A Peer Helper Power Learning Model

Many peer programs invite guests to give lectures on specialty topics. To assist the peer helpers in gaining the most from the learning experience, have them use the CASH notetaking method. Divide a page in four, as shown below.

In the Capture section take notes on all that is said.

After the talk, review the Capture section and identify information to remember and use; put it in the Apply section.

In the Share section identify key things to pass on to others as a peer helper.

In the Hone section, describe what skills might need work to put the apply section into practice.
