The Peer Helping Annotated and Indexed Bibliography

Peer Helping with Special Populations

Peer helping has been successfully applied to a variety of special needs groups. This section will overlap somewhat with the previous section on health. For example, drug abusers are both a special needs group and a health related problem. The references in this section deal with the application of peer helping to a variety of populations including employees, survivors and family members of suicidal and terminally ill individuals, parents, cultural or ethnic minority groups, inmates and juvenile delinquents, educationally disadvantaged, the mentally retarded, pregnant teens, and individuals who have difficulty in the use of social skills.
